Le Sénonien charentais du chantier de l'autoroute "L'Aquitaine". Apports biostratigraphiques

The «Groupe Français du Crétacé» and the «Working Group on Coniacian-Maastrichtian Stages» have initiated a multidisciplinary study of the sections which cropped out on the highway excavations between Saintes and Mirambeau (Charente-Maritime). These stratigraphie sections range from Cenomanian to Late Senonian. The present paper is only devoted to the biostratigraphy of the Senonian. The vertical distribution of the most important fossil groups is shown on the range charts (foraminifera, ostracodes, nannoplankton, dinoflagellates, cephalopods, bivalves, gastro¬ pods, echinoids, brachiopods, bryozoa). A tentative biozonation comparison is proposed ; it points out certain characteristic features of the Santonian stage and of the Campanian from the «Champagne Charentaise» region.Une étude pluridisciplinaire a été engagée à l'initiative du «Groupe Français du Crétacé», et en collaboration avec le «Working Group on Coniacian-Maastrichtian Stages». Elle a porté sur divers tronçons de coupes s'étageant du Cénomanien au Sénonien supérieur, entre Saintes et Mirambeau (Charente-Maritime). Seule sera présentée dans cette note la biostratigraphie des niveaux séno-niens. La répartition verticale des principaux groupes organiques (foraminifères, ostracodes, nannoplancton, dinoflagellés, céphalopodes, bivalves, gastropodes, echinodermes, brachiopodes, bryozoaires) est donnée sous la forme de tableaux.
